Resources for Black History Month

We hope that you’ve found time to celebrate and recognize the vibrancy of Black history throughout our country and state.

In his 2023 proclamation recognizing Black History Month in Vermont, Governor Scott said, “the Black community has endured inequality and injustice that persists to this day and this injustice is the result of deliberate actions over the course of centuries, and therefore the State recognizes the urgent need to continue taking deliberate actions to correct this injustice and advance equity for all.”

 This work isn’t contained in the month of February. Celebrating, learning, and uplifting Black historycontinues and creating a future where we are all truly equal takes work. Here are some local resources which continue to shape Vermont into a state where everyone is equal, included, and feels a sense of belonging:
